PERFORMER BIO
Mily Charadan inherited her love of music from her Jewish grandparents in Cuba. She earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Arts in Havana, and while still an undergrad she served as concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of ISA in Havana. Leaving Cuba in 2011 via Klezkanada, Mily eventually settled in the USA where she now teaches violin while working on her Master of Music in violin performance. See Mily this summer in Italy’s Tuscan Summer Music Festival.

In this wonderful and very unusual hour of music, Cuban violinist Mily Mustelier Charadan will demonstrate the fusion of two cultures through her music. Embracing the Sephardic, Klezmer, and Yiddish genres, Mily combines them with Cuban music for delightful results! This exciting program will introduce you to the incredible and rich history behind the Jewish music of Cuba and the Jewish people there.
